Look for an import auto parts house which specializes in VW.  46mm is the
size of the bus rear axle nut.  While you're at it, pick up a 36 for the
countershaft nut.

I saw from the FAQ that I need a honkin' 46mm socket (or English
equivalent) to remove the rear wheel; where can I find such a beast around
these parts?
