Hello

Following useful suggestions about improving lights on my 03 ST, I have
obtained two SuperWhite Xenon H4 bulbs to install. So just need to
install them...

The ST manual usefully sets out the procedure for changing the bulbs -
but the instructions begin with the disarmingly oblique "remove
cockpit". I guess they assume that this is self evident, since although
the manual includes a diagram and instructions for removing the tail
fairing, it is mute on the issue of removing front or side body panels.
It goes on to suggest complete disassembly of the light unit prior to
changing the bulb. Two questions then...

   1. Is it really necessary to completely dissemble the front of the
bike simply to change the headlight bulbs (surely a bit awkward if
one goes while you are off touring etc.)? Perhaps there is a way
to do this without such major work.
   2. If there is no other way, does anyone know of an online source of
a 'sequence to remove the cockpit' instructions I can consult? I
hope to get a workshop manual sometime, but as yet have none.

Just to be clear, I've lots of experience working on bikes (over 25
years), but none to date have had a fairing - so have a reasonable
toolkit, and some sensible understanding of how to take a bike apart.
But having never been very good with self-assembly furniture etc, I have
visions of ending up with a nice heap of unused bolts after completing
the job... and would like to avoid if possible. My nearest Triumph
dealer is a 45 minute ride away, and has workshop rates that I can only
aspire to being paid (let alone paying!). So getting an 'expert' to do
the job is not an option...

Thanks in advance for the help
