You can still get nailed for that in some situations.  I once got a ticket for
something like that, but in my car.  I was in a left turn lane with a red arrow
and the light was green for the through-lane.  There were no cars coming toward
me, and none for at least several blocks behind me.  I backed up a bit,
signaled, pulled into the through lane and went through the green light.  A cop
was somewhere nearby and wrote me a ticket for "improper lane change".  Doh!
