RE: [ST] Bike Will Not Start

It may not be the connector, it could be the switch! There is a little
plunger that extends out of the switch when you pull in the clutch and
this sometimes sticks, if it does, the ignition is live but the starter
won't turn (thus the bump start works) Try a little WD40.

Hi there,

I've only had my ST two weeks now but I had exactly the same symptons,
the
day after I got the bike. In my case it turned out to be a connector on
a
small black electric cable coming from the clutch lever (presumably a
switch). Follow the cable from the clutch for a little while and I
found a
connector that had become disconnected - easily fixed and it restored
life
straight away!! Maybe this is the prob??

I tried bump starting it but even in fourth gear it wouldn't work and
only
locked the rear wheel. My Fazer 1000 and VFR800 used to be easy to bump
start - maybe I haven't got the right technique with the Triumph yet!!

Cheers,

Andrew
