I haven't been around as long as some on this list and haven't been riding as long either.  I find though, after making some (what I thought were innocent posts) that it's extremely easy to offend some.  I'll admit that one was purposeful, but the other few (I thought) were completely benign and unintentional.  
 
I have come to learn that politics, religion, marriage/divorce, and women are in the top five topics that cause flame wars.  In fact they cause major forest fires.  Then there are the minor topics like oil, tires, riding do's/don'ts, and sports teams that are purely subjective and can occasionally spawn brush fires.  These things tend to make us jump to conclusions and judge one another without really knowing that person.  Every argument post is another nail, and wood can only hold so many nails before it splits.

Recently someone made a post that made a lot of sense.  I don't have the actual post anymore to quote but it went something like: it is our passion for motorcycles and riding that has brought all of us together on this list.  That passion is able to transcend race, religion, gender, and all of our individual idiosyncrasies to bring us together as a family.

So I say let's all not sweat the little things, because those little things can add up to destroy the family that was created.  And yeah, believe it or not this is coming from someone who has added his share of nails too.  But I want to try to change things so we all work together to build up rather than destroy the list.  My neighbor is no longer just the people in my local community.  My neighbor has now become everyone in the world, because this list pretty much encompasses the world.

In the words of that old tv commercial: "I love you man" :o and woman ;)
