As my old physics professor used to say, "Units are your friends."

Besides, what else would you expect our metric-thinking brothers from across
the pond to use?  ;)  They even spell things strangely (colour, tyre,
etc.)...

Dave, 

    Thanks for the reply and the virtual thump to the head. It never really
dawned on me until I read your reply that I was using the wrong unit of
measure. I just couldn¹t figure out why all my valves were consistent to
each other but would have been so far out of range.

    Intakes were at .007in(.178mm)
    Exhaust were at .010in(.254mm)
