Hey Andrew,

Congratulations on steeping onto a Sprint.

The position of the temp gauge is about right as you describe it. If it ever
starts to go above half way, be concerned. If you maintan the bike as it
should be done this should never be a problem. The fan will cut in after you turn
it off if its a bit warm. This scared me as well the first time!

The white bottle at the rear is the coolant expansion bottle. Only use the
correct coolant and make sure it is clean and not discoloured, eg a brown muddy
colour. If it is drain the system and replace it.
Keep an eye on your oil level as Sprint ST's can use a bit. Only use
synthetic oil.
Check the headstock bearing for "notchyness" if they are, have them replaced,
its a bit costly but it will transform the handling of the bike.

Check the condition of the suupension front and rear. If its a bit sacked out
or the oil needs replacing, consider upgrading and/or reworking both ends.
Sprints respond really well to upgraded suspension.

If you do a lot of riding, consider replacing the crappy stock seat with a
Corbin or Sargeant or similar. Again a bit pricey but well worth it.

And of course most of all - enjoy the hell out of it! Sprint's love to be
ridden hard so dont be afraid of making it work for you.

Stay Upright,
Brett.
