Re: [ST] iPod charging

According to the factory manual the Auxiliary Power Socket is a two-pin
with Black and Purple wires on a 2000 RS/ST. Much debate about where
it's located though. It's on the same fuse (3) as the heated grips but
their connector is up by the bars.

You need a 12v power supply (preferably from Apple) and I would not
dream of using a cigarette lighter socket. Use something that you like
but think about how it disconnects when you fall off or walk away
without unplugging! Resistance to damp is another important point.

I think other listers say that the factory socket (additional) is also
BMW and John Deer (as in tractors!) which can reduce the cost.

Hello all,

Does anyone have any ideas how to charge an iPod using the Triumph
accessory
power outlets on a Sprint RS.

I have been having a bit of a look under the seat and I am not sure
which
bit is the accessory power outlet and what type of connector is
needed.

There are two plugs with 4 female sockets in them that I assume are
the
power outlets; is a converter needed to make this in to a cigarette
lighter
type outlet?

All help would be appreciated.

Cheers
