Hey Jean,

I also have a '99 ST with about 86,600kms on it. Its my everyday and I 
decided to keep it last year and maintain it for various financial reasons. Of 
course that month it cost me $4000 for front rotors, pads, caliper service, head 
stock bearings, chain, sprockets, major service and a bunch of other stuff.
My mechanic tells me that the engines are very reliable in the long term so 
keeping up with everything else is worth it.
The new bike sales people disagree of course.

It would be great to swap info with you, off list, on maintenence issues etc 
as our mileages grow.
