The heat issue is an interesting one. 
So far I have found it to be pretty much the same as the previous model. It 
is winter here so I'll see what summer riding reveals, but I do remember some 
days poodling in traffic on my '99 and cooking from the heat that I couldnt 
escape. On those days I was quite happy to get back into lane 
splitting/filtering. The Sargent seat did help the comfort level somewhat as my butt didnt get as 
hot.

I've read some very negative reports on the new panniers. If my experience is 
the same I will be very disappointed with the crowd at Hinkley and will 
probably ask for a refund on the boxes until they sort it out.
