I can definitely appreciate the sentiment, but my 2000 cost me $3500
(with panniers, no top box) and an 05 is going to be at least $10000,
probably more with the panniers, tax, etc. even if I get it on a discount
off MSRP.
$6500 is a *lot* of suspension work, and I still wouldn't keep up with
Rossi (or anyone really, I'm not an agressive rider) in the twisties.
On the other hand, even a wussy rider like myself can bottom out the front
by grabbing the wonderful 4 pot brakes a little too hard. It is noticable,
distracting and one of the very few annoyances of an otherwise great bike.
Yeah, maybe I'm being silly and I should just get stiffer springs (that
should probably be done regardless of the cartridge/adjustable thing) and
that'll be more than enough for a rider of my..errr.. stature (200 lbs).
