Re: [ST] Cooling fan kinda loud?

Hi Chris,
I really haven't been able to do more than a few miles around the back roads. I noticed it when I was cruising along about 35mph -- putting along in second gear. I will keep an eye on it next time I can get out for an extended spin to see if I can hear it cycling on and off. It's about 14 deg F out right now and no warmer weather in sight. :(

I'm confident you have a problem. It should only be on when the
temperature goes above 95C I think it is. That should only be in slow
riding or stationary in my (RS) experience.

I got my '01 Sprint ST about a month ago, but due to weather in NE
Ohio, haven't been out but a couple times on it. I noticed that the
cooling fan runs all the time and sometimes sounds a bit obtrusive at
low speeds. I assume this is normal, never had a water cooled bike
before, my last ride was an '82 Suzuki.
Is the fan meant to cycle on and off or does it go all the time?
Thanks,
Kevin
