Re: [ST] fuel pump noise

According to a member of our local Triumph list, who works at a
dealership, the regulator can also be cured by removing it from the
bike, placing it in a vise, and whacking it once or twice with a ball
peen hammer. Not sure of the exact procedure, but he assures me it
works on Triumphs and Ducatis quite nicely.

Pretty silly, eh?

My friends 2002 does the same, and according to the agents it is the
pressure regulator.

It can be cured by fitting the regulator used after 2002, but it does no
harm.

coming
from the right side below the seat. I presume it's the fuel pump. At

The noise comes from the fuel pressure regulator and is worse in
cooler weather. Just ignore it. Mine's been that way for 42k miles
with no running problems.
