Re: [ST] OT: S3 Q's...

This is correct. The first 2 year T509s are 885cc. That is the first
displacement Triumph made the new T5 motor in. Then they decided it was too
small, so they punched it over to 955 for the Daytona. The first few years
of fuel injected Tigers used the 885 motor as well. Interesting tidbit,
when AMA Pro Thunder rules stated 900cc limit for triples those that ran,
and won, on Daytonas used T509 motors. Because they were under the
displacement limit. They couldn't use the stock 955.

Sorry Woovis, the T509/Tiger motor is a true T5 motor. It probably won't
match the T3 series frames. But you could try :)

Neil,

Not trying to start a fight here but I'm pretty sure that the first
generation T509 S3's were injected 885's (for 97 and 98 IIRC). This is
further confirmed by this review:
http://www.motorcycle.com/mo/mccompare/bikini/triumph.html. Also, I
think they kept calling it the 509 even when they bumped the displacement
to 955, this is somewhat confirmed by this site:
