Thanks everyone for the info - I guess from what you say that the 
differences I experienced were probably mostly due to the  ride height 
/ steering angle, plus perhaps a bit due to less weight (the loan RS 
did not have a center stand, and I guess the ST fairing must weigh a 
bit too).  The 'narrower feel' sounds like it is due to plus narrower 
clip-ons.  All small changes, but net effect is quite significant.  I 
still prefer my ST - but should I ever become rich I get the feeling 
that an RS in the garage for blasting about country roads on the 
weekend could be a good thing... :)
