[ST] for Nathan - insurance coverage

 >>> I do have a problem paying outrageous insurance as a result of
these people getting more injured than they would if they'd been
wearing a helmet. <<<

I agree completely, fortunately less than 16% of motorcyclists -
nationally - are not covered by medical insurance.

The outrageous waste that really gets my panties in a bunch is
the percentage of medical insurance payments pissed away on rehab
and/or medical treatment for substance abusers - tobacco, alcohol and
drugs. A member of my own family has wasted hundreds of thousands of
dollars of insurance money on this nonsense over the last two
decades. I support coverage of all activities involving risk, to do
otherwise is unacceptable;... even in Russian Roulette there's a
possibility of emerging unscathed. Substance abuse, however, is
playing Russian Roulette with an inexhaustible supply of ammunition.
Treatment for such ailments should be on a cash only basis;... can't
pay?... tough!

For every motorcyclist I've known who required emergency room or
hospitalization, in over a half-century of riding, there have been a
dozen substance abusers of my acquaintance who required such
treatment and frequently even incarceration, which escalates our tax
burden!

                              Cheers; doggydoo - - - o&\o
