my (very expensive) plugs because I felt as if my outer ear was being torn
off each time I removed my Arai (both Quantum and Signet) helmet and went

No, not so far, but I have a Nolan N100E flip-up helmet, which allows me to
leave my glasses on as I put the helmet on and take it off.  Maybe it would
be different with a non-flip-up helmet...
