Ah - well I didn't realize that the speedometer was pinned.  Then, obviously, you can lose rpm without losing indicated speed, as the indicated speed is no longer the actual speed.

yep, saw this one awhile back -- I guess you noticed the extra 1000+ RPM
rise AFTER he pins the speedo too
