RE: [ST] Time for a new clutch cable?

The 'usual' place for the clutch cable to fail is at the lever.  If
you loosen the adjuster and disconnect the cable from the lever you
can look for broken strands.  FYI, there was a recall on clutch
cables.  The new ones have a red(?) plastic ferrule cover where it
attaches to the lever, and the angled tube where it comes out of the
lever pivot is finished in black.  The old ones have a stainless
ferrule cover and a bright finished tube.

I'm unaware of a source other than the factory for cables.
