RE: [ST] Fuel tank hoses

I personally had a fast idling problem I lived with for about three months, but was just able to take car of it this thursday. It appears to me that it was the Idle Air Control valve out of adjustment. I just got my Tuneboy in and key emailed, so I hooked it up, and was going to go through the diagnostics, but wanted to update the tune first. Once I updated the tune, it automatically reset the valve, and now it's perfect. I had a near 2k idle out of gear, that slammed to 1300-1500 in gear for the last while, and just couldn't find a single air leak, nor drivability problem. So, if you have a good dealer, maybe it's worth checking to see if they can update your tune?
Good luck.

I rode the bike into work today, and it is running a *bit* better. The fast idle is still there, tho not quite so fast (around 1500rpm in neutral, compared with about 1200 in gear). But the pickup from idle to slowly progressing in first gear in traffic is noticeably smoother and happier. Which from what you guys are saying is probably just down to stopping a little air from leaking into the airbox via the previously open spigot.

Which means I still have to sort the fast idle problem. Where next? Check the Air Idle control valve conections/plumbing I guess...
