[ST] Re: RS neutral switch

Hi Chris - how are you getting on with yours? Mine does exactly the same - I've tried the neutral switch as you tried yours and it's the same, i.e. it works fine, but the revs rise in neutral!

So where do we go next? Someone on this list (sorry, I forget names real easily) said that updating the tune solved it, and now I can maybe see why. Trouble is I think I'm on the latest tune. Which may be the problem of course. Perhaps I should ask my dealer to go back to an earlier tune?

But maybe it isn't the tune so much as the way the ECM responds. What if there's a hardware fault (an air leak, say, or imbalanced butterflies) and the ECM is just doing it's best to correct?

I'm due my 36k service soon so I think I'll wait for that and ask them to check the physical setup, then we'll see. Meanwhile if you do find a solution, please let us all know!

Barry, 2000 RS
