[ST] RE: ST-triumphnet.com Digest, Vol 4, Issue 33

>I was surprised and pleased when after putting the wheels back on with the
airgun the tech comes back around and finished the job with a clicking
torque wrench! He even applied it in what I'd say was a proper pattern and
repeated it around the lugs of each wheel.

In a strange twist on the "some died so that others may live" cliché, it
looks like the knuckleheads who had no idea of SUV vehicle dynamics and
their pond scum-sucking lawyers have actually made the world a better place
for the rest of us. Post Bridgestone/Firestone vs. Incompetent Ford Owners,
you won't find many tire shops messing around with
mounting/balancing/installing tires.
And I'd like to add another big thumbs up to Discount. In stark contrast to
the way most MC tire retailers do business, the Discount shop I deal with's
attitude to mail order/internet sales is "bring 'em on". They're more than
willing to match prices with Tire Rack or TSW, offer free mounting balancing
(well, "Free" is relative. The rear tires on my car are $300+) and so far
have never charged me for fixing slow leaks and re-balancing, on two
occasions and one time it was even a pair of tires I didn't buy at Discount.
