RE: [ST]rear hub play. epilogue

Hey Fred,

I tried your test on my '01 ST and found no play at the rear wheel - right after a 25 mile ride and also in the morning after the bike had been sitting overnight. I could not feel any play at all. 20k miles on the bike.

All,

Finally my fellow dealer mecanic said the journal and the bearing are OK.
Well, there is a play. I will live w/ that (under my back) ;-) .
The two other roller bearings are also fine.

The conclusion is that it's essential du to the way it' conceived, to check and lub
on a regular basis this f"'&*@ bearing. Could be a good thing to use sufficiently
thick and sticky molybden bisulfure grease (grey colored).

I would have loved to have a overall feed back about every one about the play.
Never mind.

Thanks for your inputs and advice.
I think I will buy this huge pliers.
