There wasn't any real change in the Sprint ST until 2002. The Haynes book your looking at should be fine for your 2001 model.
But don't try to do the valves or fix the alternator. The coolant circuit is a bit different too. The engine is not radically different but there is some changes( the O2 sensor and idle regulation too).
