am looking for suggestions in supporting the front
I normally put the bike on the centre stand with a 2x4 under the stand for
extra clearance.
I then use a trolley jack with a thin block of wood on the lifting face to
jack up the front of the bike from the sump.
Lift the bike until the rear tyre touches the ground firmly. This means the
bike is balanced on the rear tyre, centre stand and the jack.
Make sure not to crush the oil lines or oil filter which are under the sump.
While you have so much of the bike apart, it's not a bad opportunity to
grease up the head bearings either :O)
