I expect you're right about those laws of physics Rich, I'm no physics major
but while you can not steer a motorcycle on body input alone, it seems you can
influence it to help it along to some degree.
In fact a track day I attended (billed as an Advanced Street Riding
class) taught using the lower body to influence steering. Hard for me to put
into words but it went something like "doing the twist" with only your lower
body while in the saddle.
It seems to be somewhat effective, esp. while riding down the street with no
hands answering the cell phone lighting a smoke and choking down a BigMac.
