Saying or even insinuating that self-maintenance will void a warranty
does not make it so. It's only a FUD tactic.

Now if the dealer or manufacturer can prove that someone did something
bad or neglected to do something required, then that is a different
matter. User records only help to establish the facts. In my opinion,
their possible absence proves nothing.

There are laws that address this situation, and although details may
vary from place to place, if you check into it, I think you'll find
consistency on this basic issue.

Peter Corleo at Triumph in Atlanta and I'll swear that his
line is that you will be excommunicated from the Triumph church if you
even look at screw driver. He did not come out and say it directly but he
tried to tell me that if I did any work myself that my warrantee would be
revoked.

Now wait a minute......does this mean that if I perform the 12K valve
adjustment on my 03 ST it will void my warranty?? I'm no slouch of a mechanic
(trying hard not to break my arm patting myself on the back) having performed
all the scheduled maintanence on my 95 Trophy 1200, 87K and still going
strong.
