Silver smooth finish hammerite is a near perfect match for the silver coated 
parts on the Sprints.
Thoroughly cleaning the parts and then carefully hand painting the affected 
areas should produce a good as new finish for very little effort.
Just make sure to give it a few days to harden up properly before use.

Scottoil FS365 is great for preserving the finish without too much effort
