[ST] Previous bikes

I never bothered to learn to ride until around '91, when I was about 24. I
learned some basics on a friend's old GPZ, took an MSF course, then bought
another friend's '89 FJ1200. Rode it for a couple years, felt sorry for it
being abused in my apartment parking lot and sold it.

Fast forward to '99... moving into house with decent garage space, took a
refresher MSF course, and began looking for a motorcycle. Checked out all the
local dealerships looking for something similar to the old FJ. Triumph had
never even crossed my mind (the nearest dealer is about 50 miles away, so I
didn't look that far). I posted a question on rec.motorcycles and got a
response from Bill Flowers in Florida (anyone remember Bill?). He recommended
the ST, so I took a peek on Triumph's web site, drove down to the dealer to
check it out and was hooked. Bought a 2000 ST about 5 years ago and it's still
going strong.
