Re: [ST] Recommended tire pressures??

I experienced cupping on the OEM Bridgestones and two sets of Avon 45/46s. So far no cupping on my Pilot Roads -- About 2k miles on them at this point. Triumph spec pressures always - give or take a pound or two.

Interesting -- all of the Bridgestones that I have run on two Sprints
now have cupped badly, and, in my view, prematurely, even though I have
run with the Triumph-specified pressures. I have come to the conclusion
that cupping is probably more dependant on the tire BRAND/MODEL and my
front BRAKING habits.

I'm looking forward to see how the Pilot Roads perform in this regard.

I've learned to error on the side of higher to avoid cupping of the tread. High 30's have kept my tires happier longer. On a Hawk. We'll see on my "new" Sprint... (woo hoo!)

Rule #1. Don't exceed what the manufacturer says on the tire.

Rule #2. Experiment and put in enough air so the bike handles the best.
Unless you're really a miser, the difference in tire mileage isn't
going to mean much by inflating them extra.
