I think I'm coming around to this line of thinking and I appreciate your
input Don.
If you take a few minutes to have a look at the Michelin site however, I
think you'll agree that there seem to be some gross inconsistencies in
the numbers that they quote.
Honest, I didn't intend this to develop into a full-blown tire thread,
but I don't recall any thread in recent history that focussed on tire
pressure either. :-)

on the sides, you need a higher pressure. Also, the rear tire needs a

obvious reasons. Tire failures due to low-pressure generated heat are
rare and basically unheard of at pressures above the mid-20s psi.
