RE: [ST] Bike for college - scooter alternative

You might want to take a look at the Suzuki DR200. I picked up a DRZ400 a few months ago, and I can't get over how much fun it is. It shares commuting duty with the Sprint about 50/50. The 400 has a much more "high-tech" liquid cooled engine, but it's pretty tall and maybe a bit intimidating for a newer rider. The 200 is much lower and more manageable, but probably would be scary at any speeds over 55 or so.

Luc is headed off to UCSD next year, and wants to get a small bike to commute on...he's not yet comfy enough with his masculinity to get a scooter...

I was thinking some kind of 125cc dual-sport as a scooter-alternative.

Thoughts?
