[ST] Re: Picking up the bike alone....



       In addition, I'd offer the following:

Tie the front brake with a velcro strap. When you lift it, the bike may still roll a little until coming up on compression and the front wheel will roll more because of the angle.

Lock the steering, if able to do so with the front wheel cocked toward the *DOWN* side.
This will keep the front wheel from straightening and lowering the seat height at first.

My Dad taught me "Buy your tools (read: anything with four wheels) second-hand but in good shape at the lowest price you can find;... buy your toys (read: anything with two wheels) new and always get exactly what you want regardless of price... even if you have to sell the wife's car!" Always found it to be good advice. =;o)
