supposedly the white Styrofoam that lines the inside, and which provides
PRIMARY protection to your noggin, loses it's crushability over time --
not sure if it's from the oil from your hair though -- I understood that
this will happen just by exposure to the air --heat may play a pert
too -- I don't think fit that loosens over time is the main issue
3 or 4 years is about the limit many say, but manufacturers may quote up
to 5 (if they quote at all)
it could just be a ploy to scare you into buying a new one, but do you
really want to take the chance?
