Re: [ST] Rocket vs. ST vs. Beemer

After having done a testride with 300 km+ I would say the new ST is a sport
bike with touring affinity.

pro's: the engine - more torque, feelable more power, the instruments, the
ABS; the lights; no bonanza effect; accelaterion ability
con's: the frame - the new ST is more nervous and "wobblier" (if there is a
word for it); falls in narrow corners; the heat radiated from the engine
exactly met with my best parts :-); the windshield is smaller and lower;
seat position is "sportier"

I would prefer my old ST with the new engine without underseat exhausts ;-)

But this is its weakness as well. Its more sports than tourer.
Whereas my 2000 model is firmly in the middle between the two
categories, the new ST is heavily over to the Sports section. that in
itself appeals to me but i'm wanting to hear how pillions do, what its
like after 500+ miles and how it handles in the wet.

if you have any preconception of yourself, you cannot comprehend the
unknown, that which is spontaneous.
