[ST] Chain and Sprocket Replacement, '02 ST

Rik,
I forgot, you wanted to know how.
Take the cover off the front sprocket and that shiney chain guard thing
off the rear.
Break all the nuts loose around the rear sprocket and the front sprocket
too. The front you can put the bike in gear, get a big breaker bar and
make sure to bend the tab on that monster washer back out of the way. I
also put my foot on the rear brake and have the rear tire on the ground.
The rear sprocket requires an allen socket on the inside and a regular 6pt
on the outside. Two of my bolts took the threads with them as they came
off. Loosen the large clamp bolt and loosen the chain. Break the chain
and take it off. Take off the sprockets. Clean off some crud
(optional)and put the new sprockets back on. Put the new chain on and
rivit the master link. Adjust the chain to 35-40mm. Make sure all the
torques are to spec if you do that sort of thing. Put the cover and
silver thing back on. Ride it a while and recheck the tension which will
probably be loose. Retighten and your ready to go.
