Jim,
The recall only replaces the L shaped mail fitting with one that doesn't
have a fuel cut off.  That leaves plastic female fitting still there and
when you disconnect there is still fuel pressue on the injector side which
spews gas spray.  There are several sources of all metal, all four parts. 
The easiest and most complete kit comes from TeamTriumph for aroung $85
and that is the way most guys go.
