Yeah, it's more of a "subconscious balance" thing. My body knows what to do
when the speed goes from slow in a real tight curve to increasing speed
coming out but still curving. There is a steering transition moment. I
have never tried to hold the speed at that point while turning. I am either
accelerating or decelerating through that point. I guess the amount of lean
is a critical factor as well. Decelerating to just near that transition
point on maybe a 15 mph (motorcycle speed, not by road sign) curves is not
my favorite part of riding the twisties. A tad slower and you steer like a
tricycle, a hair faster and you countersteer. There is a sense of
awkwardness and imbalance that isn't there at any other time.
It is the place where space, time, balance and speed intersect. In other
words, the fabled Fourth Dimension!
