the indusrty I work in we put threaded 3 1/2 " bolts ( for lack of a better
term ) into the end of airgas cylinders and torque them to over 600 foot
pounds. After years of servive they need to be removed for re testing.
We use a 1 '' drive impact wrench.
But in certain situations and more often than not we end up using a box
wrench with a 4ft long pipe on it. one guy applies down force to the
wrench while the other guy continuely taps the "bolt head" ( for lack of a
better term) with a 3 lb hammer and usually we get them to break free.
If you don't have access to the air power have someone help you by tapping
on the breaker bar with a hammer while you hold it with some down force.
