Re: [ST] Pirelli Tires (was: Duncan)



In watching the various tire/tyre threads over the years the common factor
seems to be commuters get better mileage no matter what tire they run and
peg draggers seem to get less than 5K no matter what tire they run.  I would
submit the repetitive accelerations out of turns load the rubber up more
like a pencil eraser than the constant load at steady speed.  Some tires
handle it better than others but getting 10K miles running twisties just may
be the Holy Grail.

Rick, now that you mention it I did notice that my Z6's started to feel
squirrelly near the end, but my last ride got me into the chords.  I thought
they had "at least" a thousand miles left but got only about 500 (total
4600).
