Re: [ST] Suspension upgrade (was: Sprint ABS)

Emile,

Before you decide whether to invest in new springs or RT emulators you need
to determine whether your problem is with spring rates or damping.

The '99s came poorly sprung from the factory and really benefited from new
springs and emulators but the '02 onwards models were much better.

Both models have crude damping and the RT emulators will allow you to tune
the damping to your own requirements IF you have the knowledge and
facilities to make use of that adjustability.

I'm 11.5 stone in street clothes and the stock front springs on my '04 ST
were just about perfect for me. I just adjusted the static sag to 35mm and
it was fine for everything from touring and track use. I then added the RT
emulators and was amazed at the difference.
