Riding the course isn't as nutty as it sounds, since it's up to you to do it well! On Mad Sunday anyone can ride the course, and over the mountain section there is NO speed limit. But it's heaving with bikes, many ridden badly, so I've always taken a gentle cautious line. Plus of course on the village sections it';s still two-way and has cars and tractors and such. Just be careful!
