When they go they just go. No amount of charging will help. Having said
that...10 miles for a totally flat battery does not seem nearly enough. I
have had car batteries go totally flat, even trips of 30/40 miles didn't
charge it enough but an overnight on a good charger did the trick.

I've had car batteries go like that. It's as if one of the plates has
dropped off and made it open-circuit. Is it over three years old?

could be but i never usually make that error simply as i never use that
function or the steering lock. When i put the bike away its usually dark
so i should notice that.
However, how long a run should give me a reasonable charge? i just did 10
miles, would i expect a charge in the battery after that?
