Avon A45/46 work very well for me.  Had BT57s then BT020s previously,  
and Avon's are in my view better than either.  They did well last  
year - lasting through two week long high speed + mountains tours  
across Europe with 100Kg of me and full panniers / pack on rack,  
mixed in with typical short trip rides (generally without luggage).   
Recently changed the rear at about 6500 miles, but front looks good  
for another 1000 or so, so plan to replace that later this year.
