Or if you feel more adventurous - there is Angeles Crest Highway in the San 
Gabriel Mountains. Bring warm clothes - it crests past 7000'. The week 
before we are in Santa Paula - just east of Ojai for a Sunday RAT outing. 
Hope the weather is holding up though.
