Re: [ST] Paging Matt H--now "TB exhaust note"

Thanks for the info on comparing. I have the high-performace pipe on my ST, but I'm thinking of switching from the Stainless Steel to the Carbon Fiber. I like the sound and noise level of the Triumph high performance pipe. It's really all about looks, and since the bike is black with carbon fiber heel guard and tank guard, I thought the carbon fiber can would look nicer. I'm having a little difficulty with the price for just swapping for the look, but I would hope that I could seel the high-performance stainless steel one to recover some of the cost. Hell, I just like to tinker with the looks of the bike. I just blew $50 to replace the chrome allen head fairing bolts with black ones - again, because the bike is black and I think that the chrome ones stand out, while the black ones blend in and make the bike look sharper. One of these days I just need to get a hold of myself and stop with the unnecessary changes......

I have a TB on my S3 and a Triumph off-road can on my ST and I have to say
I prefer the sound level of the TB on the S3 but the sound of the Triumph
can on the ST....if that makes sense :) I like the deep throaty growl of
the Triumph can to the slightly higher pitched sound from the TB - I think
it really brings out the sound of the triple more.... I just wish the ST
can were a little louder.

Having said all that...both sound better than the respective stock cans,
by a long way :)

I have a round TB Carbon can but not the Ti one. It is significantly
louder than stock but not so loud that you cannot talk over it at idle
like the Wolf or PowerMax system or the D&D. The PowerMax and D&D I find
painful to listen to after a short while of riding either with or without
plugs. I think there is a sound file on the TB site to hear it and it is
dead on. Good throaty growl when taking off and can scream when
approaching redline--but never annoying. I find it challenging not to wake
up my son when I leave really early in the morning...but that may be that
he is "tuned" to my bike. As a point of reference, my wife is really not
into loud bikes and thinks it is reasonable. She can hear me about a mile
away when I get on it though...but only after my son say's "dad is coming
home."

out!! Anyone have one of these and can compare the noise and noise-level
to the Triumph performace exhausts?
