Re: [ST] St luggage fittings - the next episode

Day two in the Pat Davies garage. (UK readers imagine the BB voice!)

I didnt loosen the frame before putting on the new bolt yesterday. This was
after using the grips to get the old one out which took a while till we
killed the threads and got a proper grip. So im tightening up the new bolt
but as the frame was in tension it started to bend the bolt.doh!

So this am i came in and slackened the frame and started to slowly undo the
bolt. Snap!! Out with the grips to repeat the exercise the day before.
Snap!!

as its now broken we are going to have to drill it out and tap it to 8mm.
This exercise is successful, mainly due to someone else doing it while i
took the time to clean the exposed areas that are normally not exposed.

So we now have the new bolt holding the frame to its rightful tether, just
need to tighten that allen bolt that i loosened to take the frame out of
tension........wtf has that bolt gone? Still havent found it but we have a
solution that works.

This weekend i put on the side frames......ho hum!
