Matt, they're probably right.  I've found that any track that runs both cars and bikes can be rough.  Cars eat up the tarmac bad.  I guess the weight and power are brutal on the pavement.

As far as scary goes, nah.  Not as long as you don't look at the speedo.  ;-)  It's when you look at your speed is when you get the "oh shit" feeling.  Otherwise the brain doesn't know the difference.  That and if things go wrong at speed is when you realize the speed is obscenely fast.

So the moral of the story is don't look.  You don't need to know you're going 170 MPH.  ;-)

I've heard the transition from the oval to the infield is rough, as well as there is a wicked bump while leaned over in the NASCAR turn 2 kink.  I've been told, if the bike has the power to get there, 170 mph is possible.  This is probably going to be scary....
