I disagree. Laguna does not line everyone up.
If Laguna has a problem it is that is spreads people out.
Having a good setup and track knowledge really counts. The guys that get it right will just walk off and leave everybody else.

A track like Daytona (3 years ago, before resent changes) or Monza made for great racing because the draft bunched everybody up.

At the MAX, all tracks have only one line. Every move will involve some chance.

But you are right some tracks have sections where a different line, while slow from start to end, will put you ahead in the middle where you can just block the other guy. Those make good viewing.
