I believe what Mr. Knowles was saying is that because he was on a motorcycle
the poor reputation that motorcycles hold would work against the
motorcyclist and would add weight to the claim of high speed.  Unfair but
factual.  Perception is reality and most non-motorcyclists believe sport
bikes are always exceeding the speed limit.

I'm refuting your statement, but that is quite an assumption (and one that
many non-riders make).  I have lots of friends who have been hit by cars,
and just because they were on a motorcycle does not mean that they were
"exceeding the speed limit by a high amount"...

I don't know the particulars of this accident, but I'd have to say if 
you are exceeding the speed limit by a high amount, and someone turns 
left in front of you, they're going to have a pretty good defense. 
Especially if you're on a motorcycle.
